Arte (?!) em panos de prato

Spent the week end playing with different designs on tea towels. Here are the cute results. I am kinda proud of myself.

The very first towel.

And another one.

This one stars TJ and Josh. Lousy pic, but the towel turned out quite likeable.

And last but not least: the one with the butterfly. The folks here seem to like the one with the kids the best. I am still not sure, but I think I kind of like this one better myself. I like the colours I used and the way it looks simple and vivacious.

It felt good to be able to actually make something beautiful. I think I needed that more than I even knew.

I think I'll stop for now. I need a bite to eat. More later.

Curtain

TJ e eu trabalhamos numa cortina juntas. Dei as medidas, a mãezinha executou a cortina prá mim.

E palpitava. Depois eu fiz os contornos.
Estamos muito orgulhosas da nossa arte. Já recebemos elogios e tudo! Que bom que é fazer arte, né?

Mas já?!!

I'm reconsidering this whole blog idea. I have found that I may not the the public-oh-so-open person I thought I was. Some of my thoughts are my own. Besides, why risk hurting other people's feeling just for the sake of speaking your mind?
Yes, there are things I want to write about and reflect upon. But I can't see the fine line between faux and faux-pas ( and I don't think this last thought makes sense, even).

Fact is right now I'm really pissed with a really annoying person about a puppy. Everything right now is very 'really'. Really. See? So what should I do about this? Should I just tell the world exactly what I think about this person, in all the very colorful words that are going through my mind just now? Or should I just chew my cud quietly, and let bygones be bygones?

For now, I am temporarily unavailable. And by the way, puppy person, fuck off.

TJ-ism

Boxing Day Post

Dec 26th, sometime after midday. This was Josh's first Christmas ever. He got a rattle and a teether and (naturally) wanted to play with the wrappers.

But this post is about Toga, the penguin. Somebody kidnapped (or penguinnapped) 3-month old Toga from a British zoo a week or so before Christmas. No one knows why, but they suspect the kidnapper might give him as a Christmas present. That kind of penguin (which CNN named 'jackass penguin' - sounds offensive, doesn't it?) was featured in a documentary now on in Europe called 'March of the Penguins' (http://www.marchofthepenguins.com) and because of it the penguins have been getting a lot of attention at the zoo.
They believe that without proper care his chances of survival are minimal. Right before signing in I checked the news, but so far there have been no follow-ups on the story.
Here's to hoping little Toga is returned safe and sound.

Vem umas 12 folhas e custa uns R$ 25,00!! Depois mostro o que já fiz.
...
Acho que ouvi o pequeno Josh choramingar. Vou parando por aqui.

Abro as cortinas...

... e corro para o meio do palco, meio ofegante e envergonhada. Não sei no que isso vai dar. Fecho os olhos e dou o primeiro passo. Leap of faith. Em todos os sentidos.
